For a town of about 20,00 people there’s plenty to see and do around here, and lots of history to absorb. Unlike many quaint villages throughout New England, Brunswick has kept quite up to date through the years and does not have the feel of being a museum piece. There could well be as many hippie types here as most anywhere on the West Coast. Certainly there are many good restaurants to provide a vibrant downtown. All the big box and franchise businesses are across the river in Topsham or down the road apiece and well out of sight. With the extension of Amtrak last year, the town is now only a couple of hours or so from Boston. Portland is down coast about half an hour away and salt water is only a 15 minute bike ride to the east.
