A visit to Suzi’s friend, Martina, and her family.
How lucky we were to be invited to Martina’s for the night.
Martina and Suzi had met some years ago in the jungles of Borneo and had climbed a super huge volcano there together – timed to be at the top at sunrise. They had lots of tales to share of the intervening years, Suzi continuing to wander while Martina settled down with her soulmate and had a child.
First we visited over traditional afternoon coffee and homemade cakes.
Martina had many photos of her worldwide travels hanging on the wall to show Suzi.
Then came dinner on the patio – Käsespätzle, a specialty of the region. Here’s a peak in the kitchen.
After dinner we took a family walk on the ridge for a fine view. Turbines are in the distance.
Suzi enjoys playing with the children.
We were up till nearly midnight jabbering in the kitchen.
