As it turns out on our Germany trips, when we’re not out in the forest on fine trails, we spend lots of time wandering around in cities, towns and villages looking at the many little details that delight the eye. Here are some that struck us as we strolled around the small town of Gelnhausen, about 22000 in population.

It’s a religious thing. People are coerced into donating money to religious organizations on the 6th of January to honor the Three Kings. To show the public that you have contributed and done good, they mark your portal with that numeration. 20…14 as the year, and C, M and B for Caspar, Melchior, and Balthasar. This protects you for a year, like term life insurance.

Architectural details delight me! Thanks for sharing these wonderful images caught by your keen eye. Did you use you iPad camera, or a “regular” one?

Glad you enjoyed the post, Iz. I’m using the iPad almost exclusively, but I carry a P&S all the time, too, just in case I need it for distance shots or something special.
